About

Welcome to toomuchnonsense.com. Toomuchnonsense.com seemed to be a very fitting title for this considering all the nonsense I have put myself, my family and my former wife through all these years. In just the last years I’ve been to Jail twice, although there probably should have been many more times than that. Bankruptcy, I filed in 2010 and I finished that in May of 2011. Oh, lets not forget the foreclosure on the house. I’m now living in a 400 square foot apartment, but I have a killer view. Divorce, my ex-wife left me for another guy. And just for grins and giggles I had two major brain surgeries, one of which almost killed me. During this time, I was drinking… a lot. Just so you can understand the depth of my alcoholism, in a single day I could easily drink up to 36 bottles of beer and be somewhat functional. No wonder I went bankrupt.

By November 13th of 2010 I had pretty much hit my bottom. Alone, broke, relationships hanging by a thread, no real future except maybe losing my job, ending up in Jail again or worse, death or injuring someone else, I knew it was time to get help.

The next day I found myself at my first AA meeting and my life has changed for the better. With the help of new friends/sponsors within AA and the tools that the organization provides my life has taken a complete 180 degree turn. In 10 short months I’m in place, spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially that I never thought I would be at. With the help of meetings and my dedication to meditation and the practice of my personal brand of spirituality I have truly, truly had a taste of Nirvana and I want more!! My life is now filled with hope and excitement. I wake up almost every single day, (we all have our off days, especially when the cat wakes you at 3am because he wants to go out) with my heart and mind filled with confidence, joy and anticipation of what the day will bring to my life. As far as I’m concerned it’s truly a miracle.

I don’t know about you, but I think everyone should be able to have these feelings everyday. Why should it just be limited to us ex alcohol and dope fiends?? I think it needs to be shared with the world, but not in a weird “I got religion” kind of a way because that just scares a lot of people off.

So I’m a bit of a geek, I’m also a web designer and developer, so when I started my road to recovery I naturally hit the internet. I found lots of great resources but I couldn’t find any web sites or blogs that really fit my personality, or I should say, my style of recovery & spirituality. I wanted a web site or blog that I could call home. Check into every so often; get some tips and stories that I could apply to my recovery from alcohol.

If you can’t find it, make it and here we are. For me this blog is a prefect fit. I love to write, I love my new life and I love to design and develop websites, so why not take a shot at it and see what my higher power has planned for it.

I hope you will enjoy at least some of my ramblings and maybe get a little tidbit of something that you might be able to use in your own recovery, and by all means, please feel free to share your thoughts and comments, someone will benefit from them.
